A pilot project built to experiment with new approaches to playground design and to serve as prototype for future fully accessible playgrounds in the Kansas City park system. The goal was to provide high-quality opportunities for play for children with physical and mental disabilities as well as able-bodied children. The first two phases of the 2.5-acre park, located in midtown Kansas City, are complete. Construction on the final phase will start in the summer of 1977.
